Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI)

This course qualifies the pilot to instruct beginning, intermediate, and advanced students in all aspects of helicopter flight, with a strong emphasis on flight safety.

USATS has designed the course to qualify instructor pilots based on their experience interacting with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the military training systems; therefore, it trains pilots in the fundamentals of instruction (FOI) and instructional methods (MOI) using the best and most current educational practices.

The course includes theoretical and practical training, in both roles, as a student pilot and as a flight instructor. The pilot will be qualified to provide instruction during the day and night, under visual and instrument flight conditions.

Likewise, flight training is developed based on our Flight Training Manual, which considers the concepts of student-centred, competency-based, learning blocks, and it is focused on transferable skills and integration of theoretical and practical training.

The flight instructor training program also includes additional options to be qualified as an instrument flight instructor, NVGs flight instructor, and High Altitude/ Mountain Flying instructor.

Our next courses start on May 4th and October 5th.

*Standardized Courses tailorable to fit specific training requirements.
