Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI)

Qualified Helicopter Instructor (QHI)

Overview

This course qualifies the pilot to instruct beginning, intermediate, and advanced students in all aspects of helicopter flight, with a strong emphasis on flight safety.

USATS has designed the course to qualify instructor pilots based on their experience interacting with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the military training systems; therefore, it trains pilots in the fundamentals of instruction (FOI) and instructional methods (MOI) using the best and most current educational practices.

The course includes theoretical and practical training, in both roles, as a student pilot and as a flight instructor. The pilot will be qualified to provide day and night instruction, under visual and instrument flight conditions.

Likewise, flight training is developed based on our Flight Training Manual, which considers the concepts of student-centered, competency-based, learning blocks, and it is focused on transferable skills and integration of theoretical and practical training.

*Standardized Courses tailorable to fit specific training requirements.
